Letters have gone home about our Reception class Pyjama Storytime
The children will arrive at school at 5.30pm, dressed in their pyjamas so they will be ready for bed when they are collected at 6.45pm. They may bring a teddy or favourite cuddly toy with them if they wish. The teachers (also dressed ready for bed) will take the children, in small groups, to some ‘magical areas’ of the school and read them a story. Each child will hear two exciting stories, from different teachers, before returning to the Hall for a drink and a biscuit. We will be taking them to clean their teeth with brand new toothbrushes before finishing the evening with some singing.
It will be a fun and memorable evening.
Here at St John’s, we have a love of reading and storytelling and we hope to encourage your child to enjoy reading stories and being read to. Listening to lots of different stories, fires the imagination, provides a love of language which we can use as a basis from which to begin writing our own stories..
