On Pancake Day the whole school were treated to a special assembly where the significance and traditions of Pancake Day were explained. Mrs Quirk then demonstrated her culinary skills and prepared and cooked a pancake in front of us all! Amidst much excitement, a pancake tossing competition was then held. Mr Still, Mr Leach, Mrs Grimble and Miss Prendagast were given a minute each to toss as many pancakes as they could. The girl team won, despite stiff competition! We then ended our assembly with a chance to reflect upon our lives, our behaviour, thoughts and actions. During this time of Lent could we learn to love God more, be less selfish and love our friends as ourselves? How would this change our behaviour, actions and our lives at school and at home?
