We are making preparations for the school summer production which this year, in case you haven’t heard, is “Robin Hood”. Apart from rehearsing their singing, acting, dancing etc., the children will also be involved in making props and scenery. Where we need some adult help however, is with making costumes. Every child will have their costume provided, so apart from one or two basic items parents will not be asked to produce a costume for their own child. This means a group of volunteers will tackle the bulk of the work.
We are aiming for a really high standard this year and have lots of ideas and plans for all the costumes. We are hoping to put together examples of everything we need and then we would like to ask for volunteers to either make a few at home or come into school for a “sewing party”.
If you have any ability at all (you don’t have to be an expert!) we would be extremely grateful for your help. Maybe you have a sewing machine and know how to use it, or maybe you can just do the most basic of cutting or stitching – we can use you! Costumes don’t have to be finished perfectly, its just that there is quite a volume of items that need putting together.
Please, if you think you can help, contact me either in person at school (I’m there Tues, Wed and Thurs after school teaching clubs). We can work around your availability, skills and time!! Even if you can only do a little bit, please do come forward 🙂
