River Study

In Class 4 we have been have been learning about erosion and deposition and all of the features of a river. Our trip to the River Darent this week gave us the chance to see the features of a river in real life.

After the recent rainy winter, the river was running higher than usual. But, still, we bravely donned our wellies and stepped in to measure the rate of flow, the width and the depth of the river.
 

Despite the water over spilling the top of our boots, everyone had a great time and we came back to school with a comprehensive stack of data to work through – not to mention a stack of wet socks to dry out!
