The last day of Term 5 was filled with an enjoyable, action packed ‘Pentecost Day’ where the staff and children learned about the coming of the Holy Spirit.
The day began with an assembly led by Mr Neil Durling and Mr Joshua Amott from Bessel’s Green Baptist Church. Alongside the story of Pentecost they explained various symbols of the Holy Spirit: fire, water, wind and a dove, to help us understand the character and nature of the Holy Spirit.
Back in the classrooms the children wrote diary entries, letters and re-told the story. Following this the children undertook many related craft activities: decorating ceramic doves, making kites and windmills, decorating candles and making fire head bands.
A wonderful day was had by all, full of learning and fun!
