Parent Literacy Meeting

Some parents have requested some explanation of current practice in the teaching of reading. Methods change and it is helpful if we are all saying and doing the same thing when helping children crack the reading code. We have therefore arranged a meeting on Monday 14th March 6.00pm-7.30pm when staff will give short presentations outlining the stages and systems being followed in their classes. I am delighted that we have also been able to book Alison Floyd, a literacy advisor, to speak at this evening. She has led staff training and is able to give the Local Authority position on expectations and methods. Whatever your child’s class, this meeting will be relevant; we hope to provide practical activities and tips for engaging  ALL children in reading. Please join us, it should be a perfect opportunity to socialise and meet some of our new parents.
