Our Performance of Alice

As we put the final rehearsals into place the children and staff of St John’s are all very excited about their summer performance of Alice.

Everyone has worked very hard to make this production the best. The costumes  are stunning, the props superb and the children play their parts extremely well.

If todays rehearsals are anything to go by, our parents and friends are in for a treat when they come to watch our twice daily performances tomorrow and Friday.

Our whole school productions are  a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, so please do spread the word to friends of St John’s who may not currently have pupils in the school and would like to see one of our performances.

As The Ship Theatre undergoes a splendid refurbishment, Walthamstow Hall has again been incredibly generous in offering us the use of their school hall and hub for our summer productions and refreshments this year.

The link between Walthamstow Hall and St John’s continues to thrive. This year we have been fortunate to support Wally girls with work experience placements as well as our regular visits from pupils completing their voluntary service. We know Wally girls to be a very special breed! They are commendably polite, resourceful and adaptable.  Their tasks are many and varied and always undertaken with cheer and excellent skills. They are a credit to this splendid school.

The drama team would like to thank Emma Christmas, the school caretaker and theatre manager for her being so accommodating and generous with her “can do” spirit whenever we asked for yet another thing!

On behalf of all at St John’s we would like to thank Mrs Jill Milner, her staff and governors for allowing us to use their splendid venue and for their continued support over the last year.

Exciting plans to develop provision for food technology for St John’s pupils are again possible through the generosity of Wally Hall allowing us to access their top quality facility. Swimming continues to thrive with St John’s pupils being taught by our staff in the Wally pool. With the addition of a second swimming coach to our team we envisage entering competitive fixtures in the coming year.
