Learning is so much fun

Last term ended with Reception class having a Medieval Banquet. The class, dressed as knights and princesses, sat down to some delicious food and drink amid bunting, goblets and place settings that they had prepared over the week We are hoping for some warm sunny weather when they visit Hever castle later this month.

Jungles, Woodlands and Rainforests are the themes for the three youngest classes in Key Stage 1 this term. Today the children returned to school armed with models, masks, posters and power points, all created as half term homework. The enthusiasm for learning, the energy of staff and the support children enjoy from home is exceptional.

The classes in Key Stage 2 have teachers who also value the impact of contextualizing children’s learning, their scheduled trips are every bit as exciting. Trips are planned to the O2, a Sikh temple, Bore Place, the Science Museum, Cuckmere Haven and an adventure day at Carroty Wood.

Our Senior Street Dance group performed at the Stag Theatre at the Sevenoaks Sports Partnership dance evening, Boogie Nights. They were superb. They dance again, this time with the junior group at a Chance to Dance at the Stag on Thursday 22nd March. It’s worth watching! We are so very grateful to Mrs Siaron Moore who teaches both clubs and curriculum lessons at St John’s superbly.
