KNEX Summer Challenge 2015

Today Class 5 and 6 participated in the KNEX Summer Challenge 2015 facilitated by Sam from STEM KENT.  We were set the design task to create a tower. It had to meet these criteria:

  • It had to be the tallest
  • It had to hold a 1kg weight

Sam told us that the current record was 2m44cm. This motivated us to try to break the record. We did!

This is what the children in Year 5 thought of the experience:

“I want to do it again. We worked really well in my team. ”
Billy

“The hardest thing was taking it down and starting again when it did not work”
Kaiden

“It was incredible”
Archie

“It was the best day because it gives us the chance to try out things without telling us what to do.”
Brooke

“An outstanding day – highly recommended for future year 5 and 6”
Vicky

“Today gave me the chance to show my creativity and team work.”
Imogen
