Year 5 and 6 are learning about entrepreneurship and economics. They are delevoping higher-order thinking skills through hands-on project-based, real world activities. Their latest task is to make as much profit as they can from homemade produce which they will sell at our Christmas Fayre.
Working in three teams the children have been making;
- Mulled Cranberry Jelly
- Boxing Day Chutney
- Red Onion Marmalade
The children conducted some market research to find out the average cost of their products in several supermarkets. They used their results to price their produce and to make them competitive. After the fayre they will be calclating their profit margin to find the wininng team.
