Carol Service

The church was full for our very moving carol service. The whole of KS2 showed exceptional talent. This year, to mark the 100 years since the start of WW1, Year 6 read, sang and gave visual frames to illustrate The Christmas Truce by Carol Ann Duffy. The whole service was very thought provoking and enchanting. The music at St John’s, led by Sarah Marsh, is superb. Each class entertained the congregation with their own Christmas song and the orchestra of 24 pupils supported by teachers and parent volunteers entertained us at the start and close of the service. Readers and soloists were very brave and performed superbly.  Father Robin’s sermon gave us plenty to reflect on and he really surprised us all by producing a real baby to illustrate his point!
