St John’s Primary School took part in the Big Dance School Pledge today at 1pm, in an attempt to help break the world record for the largest simultaneous dance.
The world record is currently held by the Netherlands with 264,188 participants in 1,472 locations having taken part. School and dance groups throughout the UK and the World all danced at 1pm in an attempt to beat this record.
Big Dance 2012 is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of dance and this year is part of the Cultural Olympiad. The Big Dance Schools Pledge is designed to provide groups in schools, or any other regular meeting dance groups, with the inspiration and tools to engage with dance and to be part of thousands taking part in a global world record attempt.
As part of the pledge we will also be dancing for 20 minutes a day throughout the Big Dance week (July 7-15).
