Big Dance

Big Dance 2012 will be the UK’s biggest celebration of dance. Thousands of events will take place across the UK in all sorts of locations – lidos, parks, palaces, schools, high streets and squares – in all dance styles, as part of the London 2012 Festival, the culmination of the cultural Olympiad.

St Johns Primary School is taking part in The Big Dance Schools Pledge. The Guinness World Record takes place on 18 May 2012, the same day that the Olympic Torch arrives in the UK.   We have started to learn the choreography for the ‘Largest Dance Routine – Multi-venue’ at 1pm on 18 May 2012, when schools around the world will go to their school halls, playgrounds, playing fields or to public spaces and perform the choreography. The current record is held by the Netherlands with 264,188 people and 1,472 locations.
